Can’t Change Taskbar Color in Windows – Fix
Most of the time, only the users on Windows 10 Version 1903 has complained about this actually. And the reason behind this is simply the presence of a ‘light theme’ as well. That is why Version 1903 basically comes with light them enabled by default. Following the design behavior of the light theme, you guys will not be able to show accent color on Start Menu and related items for example taskbar and Action Center.
In order to combat this situation, you guys are supposed to first choose the Custom option for Choose your color actually. Then, you must set Choose your default Windows mode to Dark as well.
Then you guys can scroll down and you will find that option in order to show accent color on Start, taskbar, and Action Center is now configurable too. This means that you guys can choose and apply your desired color on the taskbar.
Disable Automatic Selection of Accent Color
Well, if Windows is automatically applying color to your taskbar, then you have to turn off an option in the Colors setting.
For that, just head to Settings > Personalization > Colors, as shown above. Then, under Choose your accent color, you just have to uncheck the box that is next to ‘Automatically pick an accent color from my background.’
Turn off Color Filter | can’t change taskbar color
You guys can also try to disable the Color filter setting on your PC. For that, you just follow these steps:
- Just open Settings on your PC. And head to Ease of Access.
- Choose the Color filters from the left sidebar. Then, turn off the toggle next in order to Turn on color filters.
Turn off Transparency Effects
When you guys have set the accent color for the taskbar, then you might notice that it’s slightly dull. In order to get vibrant colors, you guys should turn off the Transparency effects settings.
