Restart the PC and try to install the printer again.

Just try to uninstall all printers and printer software from the PC and initiate it from scratch. This might include faxing or PDF writer software as well. Anything that is listed in the Control Panel at the bottom of Printers & Faxes I would do away with. But in case, if there is any software installed for other printers in Add/Erase Programs I just uninstall it all. Simply obtain updated software from your printer makers and reinstall only the items you want.
