Facebook announces a total redesign of its web and its app focused on the communities

As every year, the season of developer conferences begins. Companies show the world the latest developments in their platforms so that developers and users can take a look into the future. Thus, the first to start this run of news is Facebook with its annual F8 conference, in which the company has announced a complete redesign of Facebook on all its platforms.

In order to start the construction of a platform more focused on privacy, and knowing its reputation in this sense, the company wants to start from scratch. And what better way to do it than to completely redesign the experience in both mobile and PC. A deep wash of face that remembers to the new design of Messenger that appeared the past year. More dynamic, and in which the blue loses the protagonist in front of the target.

New Design: FB5

In addition, one of the great novelties of this new design called FB5 is that it puts communities at the center of the experience. In order to pursue the mission of achieving “communities as close as friends”, the company has created a tab dedicated to these groups. Different recommendations will also be integrated so that we can find a place where we really want to be, whether it is a videogame community or a volunteering community.

This new redesign will begin to appear from today in mobile apps starting with the United States, and then reach other countries as time goes by. On the other hand, the new website will be launched in the coming months, so we’ll have to wait a little longer to get rid of the old-fashioned design that was already starting to get a little heavy. It was time to give some good news, Facebook.
