IKEA will launch lamps with Sonos and AirPlay 2 speakers in August

Decorating our homes is much easier since IKEA exists. The Nordic design furniture of the Swedish multinational is present in millions of homes due to its good quality-price ratio. Beyond the typical sofas and cabinets, for some time now, it has available intelligent lighting kits with light bulbs and other gadgets that can be controlled through its iOS application and Apple’s demotic platform, HomeKit.

But IKEA not only wants to focus on lighting, and proof of this is that in some regions you can already buy your smart rattles also compatible with HomeKit. A few hours ago he announced a new collaboration with the sound equipment manufacturer Sonos to market new shelves and lamps with loudspeakers.

IKEA Lamps

SYMFONISK, the new IKEA line that combines light, sound, and functionality

On the one hand, we have a speaker that can be placed on a shelf or used as a shelf thanks to shelves or KUNGFORS lanes. On the other hand, we have a table lamp that also incorporates a speaker with sound quality similar to that of the Sonos One.

These two devices can be paired with the other Sonos products such as Sonos Beam, Playbar or Playbase and create a unique sound experience throughout our house. In the words of Björn Block in the official statement, responsible for IKEA Home Smart in Sweden:

Our goal is that this collaboration helps to save space, get rid of wires, make clutter invisible and bring sound and music to the home in a more beautiful way.

The two products will have AirPlay 2. The price of the lamp will be 179 dollars and the speaker/shelf of 99.95 dollars. They will be available in the month of August, although it has not yet been announced in which countries they will be available outside the United States.
