The professional Mac Pro in the design of a cheese grater and the display Pro XDR with 6K resolution and active cooling to appear in September 2019. This can now be seen on Apple’s website.
If you open Apple’s US website without Adblocker and click on “notify me” on the Mac Pro, see a pop-up, in which the early appearance of the professional computer for September 2019 is announced. A more accurate date cannot be read from it. Apple is expected to hold an iPhone event in September, which of course fits well – so could Mac Pro and the new iPhone range in one go on the market.
The Mac Pro is available with new Intel Xeon processors in variants with up to 28 cores. Add to this an incredible 12 DIMM slots, so that the computer can be equipped with up to 1.5 terabytes of RAM. There are also eight PCI slots for expansion cards, of which four graphics cards with 56 TFlops can be. The interfaces include 2 x Thunderbolt 3, 2 x USB-A and audio and 2 x 10 Gigabit Ethernet. The Mac Pro costs $ 5,999 in the standard version with 8-core Xeon and 32 gigabytes of RAM, as well as 256-gigabyte SSD and AMD Radeon Pro 580X without VAT.
The Pro Display XDR with the 32-inch diagonal and 6k resolution is connected via Thunderbolt 3 to the computer and is extremely bright with 1,600 Nits. The display costs $ 4,999, the stand costs another 999 US dollars.
Now the obligatory question to our readers: Do you see yourself as an application for the Mac Pro and where is this? We would really be interested in the deployment scenario – not because we think the Mac Pro is exaggerated, but because we want readers to show readers what can be done with such a device.
