The iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X were presented almost two years ago – in September 2017 – and are some of the models most loved by users of all existing. One of the most striking features is wireless charging, which allows you to recharge your battery without cables. Next to them was the AirPower, a wireless charging base that allows you to recharge three devices at the same time: the iPhone, the AirPods and the Apple Watch.
However, this last apple device never reached the market. After several delays in its production due to manufacturing problems, Apple decided a few days ago to cancel the project officially, becoming one of its biggest failures.
Luckily, an outside company has picked up the concept of the AirPower and has managed to create a wireless charging base with its same functions: the AirUnleashed.
Recharge three devices simultaneously
Its design is not the only thing that looks like the AirPower; The AirUnleashed is capable of recharging the battery of three devices compatible with wireless charging simultaneously. In the same way that Apple tried to do with his, with this we can load the iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods at the same time and without problems.
It is compatible with the following products of Tim Cook’s company:
- iPhone XS
- iPhone XS Max
- iPhone XR
- iPhone X
- iPhone 8
- iPhone 8 Plus
- AirPods with wireless charging case
- Apple Watch Series 3
- Apple Watch Series 4
As they explain on their website, the AirUnleashed needs a USB 2A to 5V (10W) at least, so that the one included with the iPhone is not compatible, although it is the iPad or another that complies with these specifications.
One of its strengths is the price. While the AirPower would have gone on sale for 150 euros, the clonal alternative is for 99 dollars. You can already buy on their website, and orders placed today will arrive between the end of April and mid-May. It’s funny that you can only pay through PayPal or Google Pay and not Apple Pay, although it may be something that changes in the future.
