Luckily there is a very easy method to apply that usually solves this problem and that we explain in the following lines.

Previous Checks

Before explaining the method that usually solves the random disconnections of the AirPods you should do some checks on your devices:

  • Check that the batteries of both AirPods and their box have enough charge.
  • Make sure that Bluetooth is active on the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Apple Watch or the device you are using.
  • Have the AirPods and the iOS device nearby.
  • Check that AirPods and their box are in good condition and have not suffered any physical damage.

The method we are going to explain is capable of solutions errors caused by software, but if there is physical damage to the device it is likely that the problem is hardware and in this case, the solution is to go to an authorized technical service for review.

How to fix AirPods that are Disconnected Continuously

Once the previous checks have been made, you can now follow these steps to prevent the AirPods from being continually disconnected from the iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch.

This is what you should do:

1. Make the iOS team forget the AirPods

To do this you must access Settings – Bluetooth and then touch on the blue icon that appears next to the name of the headphones.

Finally touch on the button Skip device so that the configuration of the AirPods is removed from the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.

2. Restart the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch or Apple Watch

The second step of the process is to restart the iOS device. To do this, it is easiest to access Settings – General and select the option Turn off. Finally, slide the Slide control to turn off and wait a few seconds for the terminal to turn off completely.

Once turned off, press the power button on the side of the terminal, wait for iOS to be available again and unlock the computer normally.

In the case of the watch, the most direct way to restart an Apple Watch is to keep pressing the two physical buttons of the device at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen and then wait for watchOS to start again.

To restore the AirPods, the first thing to do is keep them in their case and keep the lid closed for at least 15 seconds.

Once this time has passed, open the lid of the box and keep pressing the button on the back until the light blinks several times in orange. Once the process is finished, the light will flash white.

4.- Synchronize the AirPods again

Once the restoration process is complete, bring the AirPods to the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch and follow the on-screen instructions to pair the headset and the iOS device again.

After performing these steps AirPods should return to normal operation and stop disconnecting continuously.

Remember also that one of the reasons why AirPods are disconnected from other equipment is that their battery level is very low or is exhausted at all. For this reason, it is highly recommended to check your upload, either from the Notification Center widget of iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, by opening the case near the device with which the headphones are synchronized or in the Bluetooth menu of the Menu Bar in the case that the headphones are synchronized with a Mac.

If you have tried with the instructions in this tutorial to fix AirPods that are disconnected and connected continuously and the problem persists, our recommendation is that you go to technical service. Probably there is some software failure that needs to be reviewed by specialized technicians.
