During the night of May 29, Pokémon presented important updates about its business plan. Among them, we have been able to know some news that will reach mobile devices in the coming months along with others related to the intellectual property of Pokémon. Together with its partners, The Pokémon Company prepares the development of various initiatives that will range from pure entertainment to our health.
The first novelty is Pokémon Home, a service that will interconnect both the next Pokémon Sword and Shield games, as well as the current ones like Let’s Go Eevee and Pikachu and Pokémon GO. This service, which will be present in iOS through an app, will allow Pokémon to be transferred between games, with our friends, and with coaches who are nearby. Its launch is planned for the beginning of next year on mobile phones, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo Switch.
Next, Pokémon Sleep made an appearance. Developed with Niantic and Select Button, it is the next natural step of Pokémon GO. Together with the new Pokémon GO Plus + device, we can follow both our steps and our dream, the latter being the fuel of the Pokémon Sleep mechanics. In this case, they have not yet revealed the operation beyond that they intend to “turn our dream into entertainment”, so we will have to wait until 2020 to try it out.
Finally, there was the announcement of the recently announced DeNA project. Pokémon Masters is the new mobile game that will arrive this year, and that will allow us to meet again with some of the best video game trainers.
And of course, we will have the opportunity to challenge them in combats that, despite maintaining classic mechanics, have received a renewed look perfect for mobile devices. It will be our return, with triumphant luck, to the Pokémon League, but this time on our mobile phone.
These three developments are part of what Pokémon has prepared for this year and next, and the company has already assured that we will have more news next month, which will join others already announced as the mobile launch of Pokémon Rumble Rush. It is important to note that next week a special event is held for their new Pokémon Sword and Shield RPGs, with which we could see some novelty related to Pokémon GO then.
