How to Connect Airpods with Apple TV – Tutorial

If your Apple TV is running tvOS 11 or later, and you are log in it into the same iCloud account as the iPhone or iPad you have paired your AirPods with. Then you are already done! AirPods automatically pair with other Apple devices using the same iCloud account, and that also includes Apple TV (as of tvOS 11).

If your Apple TV uses a different iCloud account, or for some reason is not running tvOS 11 or later. Then you will have to pair your AirPods manually. Let’s see how you do that.

  • Put your AirPods in the case and then open the lid.
  • Now press and hold the pairing button on the back of the case until you see the status light flash white.
  • On the Apple TV, you need to open the Settings app.
  • Tap on Remotes and Devices, then Bluetooth.
  • Then select your AirPods from the list.

But do not want to see on your iPhone, consider connecting your headphones to the TV set for private listening. When you pair your AirPods with your Apple TV, then you have to actually connect to them to make the Apple TV audio come out of your AirPods.The simplest and easiest way to do this is to hold down the Play or Pause button on your Apple TV remote (or the Remote app). However, some of the AirPod’s functions still work great. You can double-click one of them in order to pause and resume video. If you take an AirPod out of your ear automatically pauses whatever audio or video is playing. And obviously, simply put your AirPods back into their case, and close the lid will disconnect them.
